Beauty Bathed in Sunlight

Today was a beautiful day at Youth Leaders Retreat. It was certainly a long day but we are leaving this day deeply grateful for the relationships built today with friends, for the messages we’ve seen and shared, and for the hope we have in Jesus.

We heard messages and testimonies from Archer, Heather, Maggie, and Jimmy. We saw ridiculous games like “shufflebuns” and “four on the couch.” We took silly pictures, and broke bread together, built new relationships, and strengthened previous ones.

And finally, today the cool broke and we felt the sun. Beauty bathed in sunlight.

That’s an apt description of how it looked today at Youth Leaders Retreat. The Swazi people are just that – beautiful. Their laughter, their song and dance, their questions, and their hearts are beautiful.

Standing in the sunlight today, basking in the glorious heat, we were struck by the the picture before us, and how it truly reflects the kingdom of God – different nations, tribes, tongues, coming together and worshipping the Savior as one.

It’s the picture of eternity – Jesus has overcome the world and we get to, for a brief moment, reflect that. Heaven on earth.

What would it look like if our own country reflected this truth? Our neighborhoods? Our churches? Our communities?

Heaven on Earth.

Heaven isn’t that far – it’s here in Eswatini today. It can be in your community too. It’s built through the reflection of the kingdom of God – different nations, tribes, tongues, coming together and worshipping the Savior as one.

We are praying for that tonight for your church, for your neighborhoods, for our churches, for our own nation and Eswatini.

Heaven on Earth.
